"Based on a very popular eponymous Manga series which began in 2002 (more than 600,000 copies sold), is an action packed comedy about Sung Chan (Kim Gang-woo), a young Korean chef who has lost his confidence after a terrible incident caused by his food. He is nevertheless been convinced to enter in a national competition, organized to find the true and only heir to the last royal chef of the Chosun Dynasty and inherited his famous knife and restaurant. Le Grand Chef is brimming with thrilling set pieces, broad humor, mouth-watering food and a skillful interweaving of heartfelt back stories."
The story line is SOOO long... It is almost like the 100 over episodes 大长今 packed into a 2 hours movie. It goes way back 3 generations, all about korea culture, food, royalty and people. Weird thing is your back will hurts from the long hours of sitting, but you just wanna finish the show and know the i-think-i-know-whats-the ending-is-like.
Somehow, i do disagree with some review commenting that is a very touching movie which will make people cry. I don't feel like crying after watching the movie, that probably because my tear duct will only function if the plot is about romance or love rather than sacrificing the cow for the competition. Nevertheless, it's still a heartwarming show...
