An experience, a sad one.
Did i announce to the world that i was LIVE on the Singapore Indoor Stadium to watch the Singapore Idols??? Did I ? Did I? Did I? muhahahaha!!! It's so cool! I won a pair of tix to watch the singapore idol by writing a email in a contest on Today Newspaper. Wooohoo. It is the first time in 19 years of my life, that i went to the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The sad thing was... the tix is a balcony seat. In case you donno where the balcony seats are... here it is:
The view here is good. But it wasn't upclose enough. The worst part was, there were no goodies bags in the balcony seat. Mum and i went, and she was upset about it. hahaha! look at all the other seats, there were goodies bag. Balcony seats are treated unfairly! So... mum and i went over to the terrace area during the first interval where there are a few seats empty to get a goodies bag (sadly, some items like the clappers, are gone) and a slightly better view.
We ended up here through out the show. Nice =D
The indoor stadium atmosphere was totally electrifying! The screams, shouts and sound effect was woohoof... woot! Each idol sang 3 songs, personally i thot jonathan sang better tonight. This is coz, there was this song "You Give Me Wings", that both idols have to sing, jonathan sang it till i have goosebumps! Imagine man, even at the indoor stadium i only get goosebumps when he sings that song. wow.. hahaha! Anyway, i like the way Hady did his opening song, very engaging and power.
oh well, through out the whole live performancing, i was busy watching the big screen as well as to spot the idols on stage.. haha so no pictures during the show, it was too far to even capture a good picture. So here's a last picture of the Singapore Idol stage =D Yeah!!! I can proudly say, I WENT TO THE SINGAPORE INDOOR STADIUM. muhahaha watever, i am crazy. lol

These few days, K and i are very much stationed at the outpatient pharmacy to pack drugs from the prescription. We are commonly known as a packer. yea.. packer for drugs. However, the outpatient (retail) pharmacy is having their grand official opening on monday. We somehow became a packer, this time packer for goodies bag! so dots =.= We are required to pack 200 goodies bags, can you imagine!?!? This is so unrelated to science, to medicine, to drugs.. to.. whatever. At least packing of goodies bags required less brain cells than packing drugs at outpatient.
The stuff in the goodies bag are good!!! They are all commercial products (20 of them) instead of the usual pamphets that most goodies bag would have. Quite expensive i heard. woot~
Anyway, after this whole week of attachment, my legs are breaking soon! So tiring. So sick of it. sigh, jia lat, how can i think of the bad, when there are still 11 weeks more to go
Any idea who is he?!?! If you don't, he is Singapore Idol Top 2 finalists, Jonathan Leong. muhahah~ One handsome guy. Mum and i manage to catch him up close today at PS. Sweet. Poor Hady, kena block by that security (wear sunglass somemore.. lol).

KK day 1-3
Being at kk for 3 days already. It's pretty an eye-opening experience for me.
Day 1
1) Facility tour
A pharmacy technician (PT) brought us around the different departments in the hospital like the woman/children inpatient, oncology pharmacy, staff lounge(where we can get cheaper food)
2) Outpatient Pharmacy (retail)
i) We were asked to look at pictures of how labels were placed on a computer, then the PT demostrated on what are some things we need to take note when pasting label i.e alignment, not to paste on the expire date, strength of drugs etc.
ii) We were given some previous prescriptions to look at, in order to get us familarise with the calculation of the doses
iii) spent some time familarising the location of the drugs, note how they organised the drugs into diff. category (oral sol./susp. , tablet, creams and inhaler)
Day 2
1) Purchasing and store mgmt
i) The senior phamacist gave us a lecture on how their purchasing and store management are done. Hence we get to look at some of their contracts and P.O that they did. Terms like exempted items, ad-hock, indented items and ex-items are some new words that we learnt.
* The store is holding 1 million dollars of drugs!!! woot. So much
ii) Following that, we went into the store, which look pretty much like a storeroom/ warehouse to me, to work with a PT as well. And of course we were pretty much bully to pack stuff. At first, we were ask to check the items on a trolley, to see whether they are correct. Then she gave us a long list of drugs items that the inpatient pharmacies needed. So we pushed a trolley each to get the different items. The most tiring part was, some of the items they needed 50 boxes! Some needed 5 cartons!~ Kao~! I became a coolie carrying bulks of drugs to the trolley. Heavy ok!
2) project discussion
I am under a lady pharmacist, but she don't look friendly on the outside. However, after speaking to her, she sounded fine. She is a busy lady, though the meeting time was 4pm, i waited for her for 1/2 hour before i get to see her.
"Update for dilution guideline". That's the temporary title of my project. My project supervisor ask me to think of a more sei name... any idea how to make my project title more glamorous?

Day 3
1) Oncology pharmacy
Spent the whole day there. The place there was small and cosy, we never really did much things there besides:
- Viewing how the PT prepared cytotoxic drugs in a isolator(vertical airflow laminator)
- Mini talks by the pharmacists on how the onco-pharmacy work, how they counsel patients, understanding of the common cancers that they handle
Some interest experiences i get to watch today was (poor kumaran: he didn't get to watch it, as either the session was in chinese or the patient was a female) :
- How the pharmacist counsel a breast cancer patient. It was like a chatting session, the pharmacist informed patient, who is a first timer, of the drugs they will be under, the side effects, stuff they have to take note off etc...
- How a intrathecal procedure chemotherapy was done. It was really a very sad experience to watch la... I watched how a child was given drugs by the spinal cord. The child wasn't given any LA. So brave of the child.
After watching all these, i really think, we should take care of our health and never fall sick. The process is painful and alot of money is involved in treating. So people, take good care of our health!

What a day to start attachment. It's a taxing day at KK hospital! Shall update the details when i am less tired.
911? Terrorists attacking singnet or what? Since i came back home at 6 plus in the evening, the internet connection was down (relatively slow) till almost now (11 plus midnight already). I still can't get to msn, who cares now, i am sleeping soon.. haix. The Singnet broadband technical help desk number was even engage just now, btw the time i could get thru' they have a msg:
' if you are reported on the sudden down of connection, please do not be worried. Our engineers are investigating. Please try reconnecting later. Thank you."
(words are not exact, its' based on my memory..haha)

FYP... IAP... Here I Come (shrugs)
Yep, the results of the allocation of my FYP & IAP is finalise and release today. So i shall officially report to you people as to where i am posted: KK Hospital & AMK polyclinic.
I'm starting "work" on monday! Yep, so if you people are somewhere around that area can call or drop by and find me k? hahaha can go for lunch.
Therefore, you will probably see me blogging alot of my "frustrations" or "happiness" during my 24 weeks attachments period. muhahaha... presenting to you another "frustration" of mine even b4 attachment started!
My second IAP starts 9 Jan! That's yet another screwed schedule. Most, almost all of my school or classmates starts during the december period, while i am going to have a 1 month break b4 I start to work again! Ok, many said was a good thing, but... i am just worried that the grading and stuff will affect graduation and admission to various uni or watsoever... haix.. can't help it! I shall put the blame all to XXX polytechnic! (Shall put it anonymous b4 those people come punch me!) They occupied the december slot, thus resulting my attachment to be push back!!!
So excited yet so dreaded, coz there is hell lotsa things to settle.

Weekend Celebration
My weekend was spent with 2 groups with friends celebrating my birthday. It was fun.
Saturday
Met up with LM, WY and KL. We went K-Box clementi, as usual to sing till we dropped dead. Spent 3 hours there, before we proceed to orchard to have swensens. Omg, i was utterly surprised by what they arranged. They actually bought a ice-cream birthday cake at swensens and 'allow' the swensens staff to make me stand up (supposed to stand on the chair =.=) to sing a birthday song. Alamak, it was so damm malu!!! The whole swensen was seeing ( I guess, my back wasn't facing most crowds, thank god) That really touched me.. so forgiven.. hahaha
Sunday
Met up with Can, AL and Fio with the absence of PN (coz she's sick) at Marina sq to have pizza at Pizza Hut of course because i wanna try that pizza with those small bun-like cheezy stuff. That pizza was nice, the bun tasted like garlic bread. yummy!
Then we watch a NC-16 movie "Snake On A Plane". I tell you, that was a very very nice movie. It was exciting enough, thrilling enough and most of all, it was gross enough. Couldn't imagine there was like 400 over snakes release on a 'bloody' plane. I sprung out of my seat almost all the time when a snake attacks suddenly.
This is one exciting and grossly scene (2 in 1) hahaha .. where the couple was doing "ahem" in the cabin toilet and was attacked by snakes... Alamak so... -vomits-
Another funny scene was where a snake doctor/expert was giving instructions to somebody-whom-i-forgot, he said this: Remember, time is tissue. hahaha this is a classic quote man! lolx.. still cannot forget till now. I wonder is it supposed to be a scientific pun intended or.. i donno.. hahaha
It was a fun weekend. Thanks for the gifts and time spent to celebrate my birthday. Thank you =D
